Image Control

Can a control be implemented so users can be forced to only add images saved to the File Manager, instead of allowing direct upload?

BigTree 4.3 implements the File, Image, and Video Reference fields which force a user to choose something that is managed and passes along the resource ID for pulling associated metadata.
