Upload field (required): Unexpected behavior when editing callouts

When an upload field is added to a callout, and the "required" option is checked, it initially works as expected. But if the editor goes back into the callout to make changes, since the upload field is not not repopulated with a value, unless a new image is uploaded, it thinks the field is empty, and throws a validation error. On top of that, after making the changes, and being shown the validation error, the pencil icon disappears from the callout, so there is no way to go back in and address the issue.
